Letter From Founder June 2020

June 24, 2020 Age - Adult & Parent
Happy Summer, Kindness Community! Our usual landscape of summertime activities may look different because of COVID-19, but we are all the same kind, grateful, and compassionate people we were before the quarantine.
Personally, I struggled with the closing of KM365’s physical headquarters, a space where ambassadors and volunteers often gathered, and home to every person involved with our organization. Although it coincided with the pandemic and mandatory shut-down, our decision to not renew our lease was made in order to use our limited finances strictly for programming and expanding our mission globally. At the time, it felt like a loss because of the momentum KM365 gained while we lived within those office walls.

Yet, that uncomfortable change propelled us towards readiness for a whole new way of life. We literally closed the local door and burst open a portal to the world with our inspirational, weekly online Kindness meeting. Every Wednesday, via Facebook Live at 3pm, we aim to show why Kindness Matters through experiential and interactive lessons, engaging expert speakers, educational videos, and amazing service project takeaways.

Our goal is to provide children and adults with vital tools and strategies in order to enhance and improve coping skills, emotional well-being, and mental health. Visit www.kindnessmatters365.org/onlinekindness in order to view episodes, learn how to join the movement, or explore starting a KM365 club within a school or organization.

I want to remind you that you are okay, even on the days you feel uncertain, and you are NOT alone; KM365 is here for you in our usual and exciting new ways.
